August 2018 @ Leeds English

This month’s Star Students…

Seolcheon in Bluebell Upper Intermediate

Nominated by Alan for his positive attitude in class. He is a strong student who works well with everyone!

Amy in Petunia Pre-Intermediate

Mel nominated Amy because she works very hard and is a great autonomous learner. Amy has made a special effort to improve her language skills in her free time, too.

Turki in Honeysuckle Pre-Intermediate

Turki has an excellent attitude, is hard-working and focused in class, and always very polite and friendly!

Trips and Activities

Ruth has been busy planning some really exciting social activities for our students. Here’s just a handful of highlights from the month…

Leeds Owl Trail

The trail took us around the Town Hall,
Art Gallery area and then to the river,
finishing close to the bus station.
Our students said that the trail encouraged them to look up and see the beautiful buildings. Sounds like good fun to us!

Football

20 students joined together on Tuesday afternoon to play football on the pitch at Burley Park. Burley Road versus Victoria Road and player of the match was Juliana from Brazil!

Scarborough

You cannot visit the British seaside without a lunch of Fish and Chips!
We enjoyed ours by the harbour, laughing at the seagulls eyeing all the food. Next was the climb up to the Castle. It dates back over 3000 years and is one of the oldest in the UK. Inside we watched a display about how horses were trained to joust!
