Hello Yi Jen! Could you tell us a little bit about your MA course and your area of research?
I studied MA Curation Practices (full-time) at Leeds Arts University. I learnt collaboration and communication skills by working with my classmates and artists to curate an art exhibition.
My study was a focus on the relationship between the artwork and the audience; How the curator engages with people for the visitors to participate more in the exhibition. Furthermore, I used visual communication skills and creative skills to lead people to pay attention to the works of the exhibition.
Sounds interesting! What did you like most about the course?
I gained new experiences! The course had specialist tutors, visiting lecturers and professional curators to teach us. I also went to different places to study such as the gallery, Leeds museum and places in the art institution.
How did your experience at Leeds English Language School help you?
For me, it is good to practice listening and it helped me to get into the environment. For example, after class we had different extra lessons, you could choose to learn, and also there are activities to experience in Leeds.
What did you most enjoy about Leeds English Language School?
At Leeds English, I met the excellent teachers who were patient to teach us, furthermore, I talked with new people and made friends from around the world. Also, in my accommodation many students live together; therefore, you could join different activities. All of them were a special experience in my life journey.
Do you have any other comments or advice for students coming to study in Leeds?
It is a great city to live and learn. There are many schools and the city centre was very concentrated. If you want to come to Leeds, bring a curious heart and an open mind to enjoy every moment – they will become your special memories.

Leeds Arts University is the only specialist Arts University in the North of England.
Our 10-week Intensive English courses are great for students who would like to improve their English skills before studying as an undergraduate or postgraduate.
Finally, congratulations on completing your Masters! What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I plan to keep learning, to travel and to apply for a job, meanwhile, I will have enthusiasm to face any challenge in whole life.
