One student who has been exceptionally committed to their studies (and to the entire Leeds English experience) is Rashed from Bahrain. He was chosen as our “Student of the Year 2019”.

What is your favourite thing about Leeds?

“The best thing in Leeds is the environment for studying.”

Do you like our weekend trips?

“Yes, of course. Especially Saturday because of the fabulous organiser in LELS, her name is Ruth!”

What’s the best food you have tried in England?

“The best food is Yorkshire pudding!”

“The school has the best staff and all of them are helpful.”

If you want to relax and have a quiet weekend in Leeds, what do you like to do?

“Unequivocally, I hung out with some students I met at school and they became my best friends.”

What is the most difficult English word to pronounce?

“Spectacular”

Who is your favourite teacher?

“All the teachers and staff are wonderful, but if it came to the best in my humble opinion, it is Weronika.”

What is your accommodation like in Leeds?

“My best accommodation was Carr Mills because I met students from all over the world.”

Finally, what was the funniest thing that an English person has said to you?

“Cheers mate!”
