Coursebook and materials

Official Cambridge University Press coursebook

All of our students will receive an official Cambridge University Press coursebook suited to their level at the start of their course. The new Empower series is the chosen coursebook for our Intensive General English courses along with Face to Face. Students on our Intensive IELTS course will use official IELTS Cambridge material,  Mindset for IELTS, at their level, as their main coursebook.

Official Online Cambridge LMS

All students in the Intensive General English will have access to the OFFICIAL online Cambridge LMS. This is a system for helping you to learn on your own as well as in class. It is a practice online workbook with weekly tests that allow students to complete assignments at their own pace. These assignments are corrected instantly, so our students can see what they got right and what they got wrong immediately upon completion.

Continued access to the Cambridge University Press Online Learner System

All Leeds English students will have access to online resources to continue their studies when they leave our school. This means our students can keep learning and practising for up to ONE YEAR after finishing their course in Leeds. This is an added bonus and a bit of a farewell gift to our students as we don’t want you to forget the skills learnt here with us at Leeds English Language School!

Mindset for IELTS

Intensive IELTS students have access to the Mindset for IELTS online workbook and Testbank, which has FOUR full IELTS practice tests. The answers will be regularly assessed by our teachers so that our students can understand their strengths and weaknesses to better prepare and study for the IELTS exam.

Arabic and Chinese speakers

Arabic and Chinese speakers enrolled in the Intensive IELTS course also receive extra additional online resources to help prepare for the IELTS exam. These resources focus on providing additional practice on common mistakes in vocabulary, grammar, and writing.

Teacher training by Cambridge University Press experts

We are lucky that as a Cambridge University Press: Better Learning Partner, our teachers will receive in-person training from a specialist so that they can keep up-to-date on the best practices and methods for their teaching of English.
